What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Clinical Applications Manager position at UC Davis Center for Precision Medicine and Data Sciences?
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare information technology, computer science, or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience/ training.
Previous supervisory experience, or demonstrated leadership of cross-functional project teams, typically 1–3 years, supporting the delivery of complex clinical system implementations across multiple departments or service lines.
Experience in planning and delegating work, resource management, budgeting, and operational oversight in a fast-paced, highly matrixed healthcare environment.
Experience supporting or implementing complex healthcare information systems in a clinical environment with an understanding of clinical workflows, systems integrations, and end-user impact on patient care and operations.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, or develop staff and/or project team members, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Experience partnering with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to define requirements, align priorities, and support successful implementation and adoption of systems and workflows.
Experience managing or contributing to complex projects with multiple stakeholders, including coordinating timelines, tracking deliverables, and supporting successful execution.
Strong technical background with demonstrated competency in clinical imaging workflows and following areas: Strong critical-thinking, project-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and interpret complex data and systems, to quickly identify problems and implement technical solutions
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively train users and to successfully manage extensive cross-functional interactions between the Clinical Application team, users, related personnel and outside vendors.
Ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise, and specific manner and to cultivate strong commitment to quality and achievement of goals.
Strong knowledge of healthcare information technology, clinical workflow and processes and medical terminology. Comprehensive understanding of clinical applications and integration with clinical processes and workflows.
Strong knowledge of clinical application systems, including planning, design, development, testing, system integration, data integrity, security, and user support
Demonstrated leadership skills managing IT professionals and collaborating with clinical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues, identify root causes, and support development of effective solutions in complex environments.
Ability to balance operational responsibilities with project work, aligning efforts to departmental and organizational priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to convey highly technical information to all levels of clinical and operational users, and influence decision-making across stakeholder groups.
