What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrophysiology Technician 1 or 2 (CVT) - EPS Lab position at UC Davis Center for Precision Medicine and Data Sciences?
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of hire
- High school diploma, general education diploma (GED), or equivalent experience/training
- 1 year experience as a CVT tech – will consider course work in lieu of work experience
- Ability to perform all roles of the EP Scrub Tech.
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and electrophysiology.
- Skills to work accurately and quickly under pressure.
- Judgment skills to be able to make independent clinical decisions within scope of practice.
- Ability to set priorities, organize work independently for self and others.
- Working knowledge of EP systems equipment
- Knowledge and recognition of pressure waveforms and ECG analysis.
- Knowledge of laboratory supplies.
- Ability to provide pre- and post-EP teaching explanations of procedures and emotional support to patients and families.
- Ability to participate in implementing standards of patient care.
- Ability to participate in establishing policies and procedures and in ongoing CQI program.
- Willingness and ability to work in a cooperative fashion with other staff members.
- Ability to utilize chain of command for questions or escalations.
