Key Responsibilities
Prior Authorization & Eligibility Support
- Verify patient eligibility and obtain required prior authorizations for medications, imaging, procedures, and admissions
- Track authorizations to align with surgical scheduling and prevent expirations
- Coordinate financial assistance with facilities or service locations when applicable
- Manage incoming documentation and support completion of required forms
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of authorization requests
- Perform additional administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, ensuring a positive and supportive experience
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff regarding authorization status
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication skills with patients, providers, and staff
- Flexibility to adapt to fluctuating work hours and travel to other UBMD locations as needed
