UBMD Pediatrics is one of 18 practice plans within UBMD Physicians’ Group, the single largest medical group in Western New York. We provide premier health care to infants, children, adolescents and adults. In addition to primary care pediatrics, we have 18 pediatric subspecialties. Our physicians make up the academic teaching faculty within the Department of Pediatrics at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo and at Oishei Children’s Hospital. Key Responsibilities
Front Desk
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Greet and check in/out patients in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
- Handle payments and co-pays in accordance with the patient’s insurance coverage.
- Handle insurance verification and entry.
- Schedule and confirm appointment in our EMR.
- Assist with administrative tasks to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Medical Assistant (MA)
Patient Intake
- Record medical history
- Record accurate vital signs
- Lab collection
- Reconcile medication history
- Exam assistance
Exam room turnover
- Adhere to infection control standards
- Stock and clean exam rooms
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
- Strong familiarity with medical terminology and previous experience with EMR systems.
- Exceptional communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and operate under pressure with precision and empathy.
- Commitment to cultural sensitivity and confidentiality in handling patient information.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
