The practice includes 135 primary and specialty care physicians and 187 staff members across 16 hospital and outpatient clinic locations, making Internal Medicine the largest practice plan within the UBMD Physicians’ Group. Role Description The Information Technology Support Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Area. This position provides front-line technical support for clinicians and staff, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues for desktop computers and related devices. Daily responsibilities include responding to help desk tickets, troubleshooting network connectivity, installing and configuring applications, and assisting with user account and access management. The specialist also helps maintain IT documentation, coordinates with vendors or central IT teams when needed, and supports technology used in clinics and hospital locations to ensure minimal downtime and reliable access to critical systems.
Qualifications
1. Candidates should possess strong Technical Support and Help Desk Support skills, including experience supporting end users in a healthcare or professional environment.
2. Candidates should possess Troubleshooting and Desktop Computers skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues efficiently.
3. Candidates should possess foundational Information Technology skills, including familiarity with operating systems, basic networking concepts, and common productivity applications.
4. Relevant skills such as clear communication with non-technical users, customer-service orientation, and the ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced setting.
5. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; healthcare IT experience and industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Network ) are beneficial. Understanding of Malware, Spyware and other virus controls.
6. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2007 to present.
7. Excellent communication skills, understanding of remote desktop access and comfort in demonstrating techniques for various software used.
8. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with ability to travel to various sites.
