Role Overview
The Web Migration Specialist will support a large-scale web modernization initiative focused on migrating websites from a legacy hosting environment to a centralized WordPress-based platform. The role will collaborate with web customers, hosting teams, and vendors to ensure smooth, accessible, and standards-compliant website transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Migrate WordPress-based websites from legacy hosting platforms to a centralized web hosting environment.
- Assess website functionality requirements and recommend compatible solutions, plugins, or alternatives.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to plan and execute website migrations.
- Ensure accessibility compliance, SEO preservation, and content integrity during migrations.
- Document migration activities, customer communications, and project status updates.
- 3 years of experience building, managing, and migrating WordPress websites.
- Experience with WCAG accessibility standards and accessible web design practices.
- Ability to evaluate functional requirements including forms, workflows, search, events, and integrations.
- Understanding of DNS concepts and domain configuration.
- Strong customer communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Familiarity with deployment workflows and web hosting environments.
- Hybrid schedule requiring onsite presence 2 3 days per week.
- Local candidates preferred.
- Standard schedule of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
