Role Overview
Assists in the preparation of materials for testing and supports certified and professional laboratory staff in the execution of various quality control laboratory procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and prepare laboratory samples using front-end automation, handle refrigerated and frozen storage/archives, and use computerized reports for sample retrieval and reconciliation.
- Receive specimens and supplies, process and record information from collection centers, and track donor samples from initial receipt through final testing.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot departmental laboratory instrumentation.
- Utilize the laboratory computerized inventory management system to locate, track, and determine the testing status of samples (may handle positive samples).
- Work within current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and adhere to all laboratory regulatory standards.
- Comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, safety regulations, and procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform proper disposal of laboratory samples into designated biohazard containers after testing is complete.
- Assist with monitoring inventory levels for laboratory supplies and notify supervisors of restock needs.
- Participate in continuing education and perform other assigned job-related duties.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Previous laboratory-related experience
- Work Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM 3:00 PM (40 hours per week).
- Work Location: 100% Onsite.
- Interview Requirement: Candidates attending the onsite interview must wear long pants and close-toed shoes for the mandatory laboratory tour.
- Orientation: First-day orientation is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, after which workers will return at their assigned shift start time.
- Compliance: Strict adherence to laboratory safety and dress code guidelines is required.
