Sr Expansion Program Manager - Construction and Infrastructure, AV Fleets

About The Role

Uber is accelerating the deployment of autonomous vehicles by building a robust network of real estate and infrastructure to support AV fleets. Our Construction Supervisors are critical to ensuring launch timelines are met by overseeing execution from the moment a lease is signed through Certificate of Occupancy.

In this role, you'll be the single-threaded owner of day-to-day construction oversight across multiple markets. You will drive contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams toward a shared launch goal while staying on budget and schedule. The Construction Supervisor brings deep executional experience, financial discipline, and a hands-on approach to AV infrastructure delivery.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily site construction activities including contractor management, schedule tracking, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate closely with the AV Infra team post-site handoff to ensure execution aligns with site design and permitting.
• Own and manage construction change orders, cost control, and contractor accountability.
• Coordinate across internal teams (Places, StratFin, Safety, Legal) to ensure timely delivery of infrastructure.
• Review and approve design drawings and construction specs; ensure build aligns to AV operational needs.
• Support launch execution team in depot turnover readiness (utilities, inspections, certifications).
• Implement best practices for playbook-driven, repeatable construction in multiple markets.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• 5-8 years of construction management, site delivery, or related field experience.
• Strong project management experience across concurrent site builds.
• Comfortable managing change orders, cost tracking, and contractor performance.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real estate development, EV infrastructure, or AV depot construction.
• Experience juggling multiple builds at once in a fast pace start-up like environment
• Prior involvement in scaling site builds across multiple geographies.
• Technical familiarity with electrical, charging, or network systems.
• Understanding of permitting, zoning, utility interconnection processes.
  
  

For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$140,000 per year - CAD$155,500 per year. For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$140,000 per year - USD$155,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
