This role blends strategy, operations, and cross-functional leadership to build a scalable, efficient, and market-adaptable last-mile model. You'll work closely with teams across Product, Ops, Commercial, Legal, Uber Freight, and more to build the operating model, launch new markets, and turn learnings into global playbooks.

Uber Direct is rapidly scaling its Last-Mile offering for Retail & Logistics. As the Global Ops & Strategy Manager, you'll lead key work streams to bring our vision to life and shaping a roadmap for global expansion.
This role blends strategy, operations, and cross-functional leadership to build a scalable, efficient, and market-adaptable last-mile model. You'll work closely with teams across Product, Ops, Commercial, Legal, Uber Freight, and more to build the operating model, launch new markets, and turn learnings into global playbooks.
Responsibilities
- Design and drive the global expansion strategy, combining pilot learnings with market analysis to inform rollout plans with clear commercial and operational guidelines.
- Lead strategy alignment across Product, Ops, Commercial, Legal, Freight, and regional teams to ensure a seamless global rollout.
- Build and operationalize the program infrastructure, including performance tracking, commercial pipelines, governance (x-fn syncs and leads reviews), & internal comms (e.g., global forums & newsletters).
- Develop go-to-market and pricing strategies, working closely with regional teams to tailor approaches based on merchant needs, cost and operational models.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to influence DaaS features-especially around batching, route optimization, and courier experience.
- Navigate market regulations, partnering with Legal and Product Counsel to ensure compliance across courier models, tax, and standardized commercial contracts.
- Build and evolve the Retail Last-Mile playbook, combining pilot learnings, market insights, and regulatory considerations to shape go-to-market strategies and adapt to local operational needs.
- Track the competitive landscape and industry trends, and evolve our Last-Mile model to stay ahead of trends in logistics and fulfillment.
- 6 years of experience in operations, business strategy, or market expansion.
- Experience with logistics infrastructure and last-mile models, including courier networks, E2E shipping, or fulfillment
- Strong strategic, financial, and analytical acumen, with a structured approach to solving complex, global challenges.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders at scale-aligning Product, Ops, Engineering, Legal, and Commercial teams to execute effectively.
- Demonstrated success in navigating ambiguity and prioritizing competing initiatives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders across regions
- Familiarity with regulatory landscapes related to independent couriers and retail logistics across global markets.
- SQL proficiency and experience using data analytics to drive decision-making.
Salary : $140,000 - $172,000
