What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthopedic Technician position at UAB St. Vincent's?
Position Overview:
- Department: ASMOC (Andrews Sports Medicine)
- Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's

Perform patient care and orthopedic procedures in assigned area.
- Assist with treatments requiring plaster casts and/or surgical procedures involving fractures as ordered by a physician.
- Set up and apply medical devices related to orthopedics.
- Report abnormal assessment findings or changes in orthopedic conditions to staff.
- Maintain current knowledge of orthopedic policies/procedures through training, testing, and skills labs.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart
Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
