Pay range: $94,375 - $153,355 / year

Shifts: Full-time Days

Job Description

To provide anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist. To interact with pathologists in the same manner that physician assistants carry out their duties under the direction of physicians in surgical and medical practice. To contribute to the overall efficiency of the laboratory by performing a variety of tasks consisting primarily of gross examination of surgical pathology specimens. To perform all aspects of tissue prosection of specimens. To assist the pathologist with intraoperative consultations. To maintain an adequate inventory of supplies, reagents and solutions. May perform special projects and duties as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biological Science, Allied Health Science or a related field and graduation from an NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant progam required OR for students pursuing completion of an NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program, a Bachelor's degree as previously described and completion of Pathologists' Assistant program within five (5) months from date of hire required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Current PA(ASCP) certification or eligibility to sit exam for certification within 24 months from date of hire required.
