What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at UAB Medicine?
- Department: General Finance
- Schedule: M-F, 8a to 5p, Partial Remote - onsite 1 day a week required
- Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Health System

Performs analysis and reporting regarding financial operations and information.
- Performs statistical, cost and financial analysis of data extracted from various internal sources. Prepares reports based on findings, including health care costs, provider contracts, debt capacity, revenue and profitablility.
- Assists with budget preparation and financial planning processes. Assists with budget review for compliance and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
- Serves as consultant to all levels of management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies and procedures.
- Performs special projects and duties as assigned, including research, forecasting and exploring viable alternatives.
- Assists with all accounting, financial reporting, portfolio reporting and valuation activities.
- Reviews financial statements for compliance with GAAP and other internal policies.
- Loads final budget spreads into applicable systems and performing required reconciliations.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations
- Accountant licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
