Job Description
To independently perform non-invasive neurodiagnostic procedures (e.g. nerve conduction studies, blink reflexes, evoked potentials, repetitive nerve stimulation, autonomic testing) for both EMG and autonomic conditions. To use various techniques and operation of conventional and/or portable equipment needed to perform a variety of neurodiagnostic procedures in an ambulatory and/or inpatient ICU setting under the supervision of a lead technologist. To demonstrate an awareness of neurodiagnostic electrical safety and promote equipment checks and maintenance to help ensure the maintenance of a safe operating environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience as an electrodiagnostic technologist required. Current active membership in AAET or AANEM required. Must maintain CEUs required for certification. Enrollment in or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited Neurodiagnostic Program or an Associate degree or higher in a science related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
