Job Description
To make critical decisions regarding the repair, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems in high risk areas, such as ICUs and surgical suites. To ensure compliance with safety codes, troubleshoot complex electrical failures, prioritize urgent repairs to minimize disruptions to patient care, and coordinate with hospital leadership and contractors for system upgrades and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and six (6) year of related experience is required. Associates degree OR technical diploma in Electrical Systems, Electrical Technology or a related field is preferred. State of Alabama (or reciprocal state) MC or Journeyman license; NICET II; and City of Birmingham Journeyman license or MC is required. ASHE Health Care Physical Environment Worker Certification required within six months of employment. Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current guidelines include possession of a valid driver's license issued in the United States, at least 21 years of age and at least 3 years of driving experience. Must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
