Pay range: $22.90 - $37.25 / hour
Job Description
Using in-depth knowledge of the Accounts Payable function and systems, provides both project and technical leadership to the team. Helps develop, direct, plan and evaluate accounts payable policies and procedures, and ensures external and internal controls and policies are adhered to. Responsible for efficient, accurate, and timely processing of applicable Accounts Payable requisitions, confirming that all required documentation and signatures are included with requests prior to processing checks.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Reviews and approves complex or high-value invoices.
- Ensures invoices are coded correctly to general ledger accounts and cost centers.
- Monitors invoice workflow queues and resolves processing bottlenecks.
- Verifies compliance with organizational policies and approval requirements.
- Serves as a primary escalation point for vendor inquiries.
- Resolves payment discrepancies and disputed invoices.
- maintains vendor data including banking and tax information.
- Assists with onboarding new vendors and validating documentation.
- Coordinates payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers, etc.).
- Ensures payments are made accurately and according to agreed payment terms.
- Reviews payments exceptions and stop payments as necessary.
- Helps train and mentor Accounts Payable Specialists.
- Reviews team productivity and accuracy metrics.
- Provides guidance on complex transactions and process issues.
- Identifies insufficiencies in AP processes and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Helps develop and document standard operating procedures, ensuring adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, and four(4) years of accounts payable experience. Successful completion of a credit check, using banking industry criteria, is required in determining the eligibility of candidates.
