Essential Functions
Aquatics Administration
- Assist Aquatics leadership in meeting or exceeding standards for the safety, security, hygiene, and emotional welfare of participants that may normally be expected of a firm and judicious parent.
- Assist in ensuring that medical release forms are accurately completed and maintained on file.
- Professional level communication with both internal departments or external parties.
- Assist the Aquatics leadership team in meeting or exceeding professional and industry standards for the handling of hazardous chemicals.
- Help to ensure the orderliness and appearance of the UAT and lake and related areas.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of the Aquatics Manager for the accurate and timely completion of related tasks and assignments.
- Assist the Aquatics Manager in meeting or exceeding professional and industry standards for maintaining the integrity of the water tank and related equipment.
- Assist the Aquatics Manager in meeting or exceeding professional and industry standards for proper water quality, chemistry, clarity, and temperature.
- Assist divers with preparation, donning, doffing, and rinsing of equipment to ensure diver safety and proper operation of equipment.
- Conduct in/underwater training, tours, demonstrations, and simulations in a prompt, professional, and educational manner.
- Ensure that Aquatics documentation and related materials are accurately and promptly filed and maintained following AQUATICS procedures. Documentation includes, but is not limited to:
- SCUBA Class forms
- Dive Demos
- Pump Pool Logs
- Lake temperature logs
- Water Chemistry Logs
- Compressor Maintenance Log
- Equipment Maintenance Log
- Air Fill Logs
- Inventory
- Systematically inspect the UAT, chlorinating, heat and circulation, air compressor systems, and other mechanical equipment and devices to ensure an effective level of operation and safety.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of the Aquatics Manager for assisting in the repair of the UAT, mechanical equipment, and electrical systems with outside vendors.
- Ensure that underwater demonstrations, simulations, and training optimize schedules and productivity.
- Help the Aquatics Manager ensure that the Underwater Training Facility has adequate supplies and materials necessary to conduct daily operations.
- Help the team to meet or exceed the professional and industry standards for proper water quality, chemistry, and clarity.
- Assist the Aquatics Manager in providing oversight and training for the Aquatics Staff to systematically inspect the chlorinating, circulation, filter room, and other mechanical equipment and devices to ensure an effective level of operation and safety.
- Help to provide oversight and training for the Staff to conduct and document safety checks of the AC Lake facilities and equipment following established guidelines.
- Help ensure that the Aviation Challenge Lake has adequate supplies and materials necessary to conduct daily operations.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of the Aquatics Manager for coordinating repair of mechanical equipment, and electrical systems with outside vendors.
- Help the Aquatics Manager in ensuring that Aquatics staff receives timely, relevant, and appropriate training.
- Deconflict staffing schedules with activity requirements.
- Conduct shift check ins and outs for staff in assigned areas.
- Assist the Aquatics Manager in ensuring that Aquatics Staff comply with all departmental guidelines.
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of tasks assigned to Aquatics Staff.
- Formally and regularly communicate with Aquatics staff, all relevant and appropriate operational and corporate information.

Qualifications
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of post-secondary education
- Current Lifeguard Certificate or the ability to obtain within specification of Aquatics Manager.
- Must have the above required certifications.
- Must have the ability to lead, direct, budget, and schedule staff and resources.
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills to instruct employees and trainees in the proper use of AQUATICS equipment and activities.
- This position requires walking and climbing to access equipment. Must be capable of safely lifting and supporting an adult from the water during emergency situations. The role also involves bending, kneeling, and reaching to maintain equipment. Additionally, candidates must have the ability to use their sight, wrist movements, and sense of feeling to perform lifesaving duties. Effective communication skills are also necessary, as the position requires talking and hearing to interact with employees and guests.
- Swim proficiency will be evaluated as part of the hiring/employment process.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
