Description of Position: Serves as the Lessons Learned Management Specialist for the Global Space Operations Directorate. Responsible for compiling, tracking, implementation and providing strategic guidance on issues identified involving the execution of space operations to the Director of Global Space Operations Directorate. Lessons Learned Manager will support exercises and war games, prepare lessons learned and support after action report activities and brief leadership.
Position Responsibilities: Serves as a strategic leader responsible for ensuring the J3 Directorate's sustained readiness through analysis of lessons learned for global space operations Facilitates effective planning, integration, and execution of all exercises, wargames, and experiments, driving innovation in training methodologies, fostering collaborative partnerships, and providing expert guidance to senior leadership to maximize training effectiveness and enhance the command's ability to respond to evolving threats.
- Coordinates the joint planning processes to support DoD space operations. Applies operational experience, technical expertise, and unconstrained thinking to support development of space operation strategies, contingency and deliberate plans, and command operations and exercises.
- Routinely provides strategic guidance to senior military officials. Utilizes combatant command and Joint Staff resources to conduct the operational exercises, experimentations, and wargaming activities for assigned and allocated forces and collect lessons learned.
- Establishes relationships with organizations outside the command on matters related to operational exercises, experimentations, and wargaming activities. Supports USSPACECOM, Joint Staff, and other combatant command battle rhythm events, to include Boards, Bureaus, Centers, Cells and Working Groups (B2C2WG).
Desired Skills/Expertise:
- Mastery knowledge of DOW, Joint Staff, and Command standards and policies for joint Training, Exercise, and Wargaming systems and in-depth knowledge of DOD, Service, Agency, and Command interrelationships.
- Mastery knowledge of the planning lifecycle, strategic planning processes, and the complexities of operational environments is critical for creating realistic scenarios, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and aligning planning with strategic goals.
- Advanced written and verbal skills in communicating effectively; negotiating complex issues; and maintaining good working relationships with diverse groups and executive-level command management.
- Expert level skills in creating and presenting oral presentations to senior military staff and government officials.
- Superior ability to plan, organize and direct staff and functions, within available resources and time constraints
- Previous experience at a Combatant Command and/or Service/The Joint Staff/OSD-level staff is highly desired.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Position requires drug testing
- Up to 90 days of travel per year away from regular duty location may be required.
- Occasionally will be required to work irregular duty hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
