The United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) in Colorado Springs, CO is searching for a well-qualified Program Analyst candidate to fill the Modeling and Simulation Subject Matter Expert (SME) position for the Advanced Warfare Capability and Resource Analysis Division. Description of Position: The Modeling and Simulation SME Program Analyst in the Advanced Analytics Branch Serves as technical subject matter expert to Advanced Analytics Branch Chief, who is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of a diverse team of 16-20 technical military, civilian, and contractor operations research analysts and engineering modeling and simulation team. The Technical SME is responsible for overseeing studies and analyses supporting command leadership in all UCP assigned areas of responsibility.

This position requires expertise in modeling and simulation concepts, as well as an understanding of space capabilities. The SME will analyze and integrate architectures, analyze force design needs, and advocate for modernization efforts to maintain operational readiness and inform CCDR priorities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Leads and executes complex modeling and simulation (M&S) studies and operations research analyses to evaluate space warfighting capabilities, force design requirements, and operational readiness.
• Serves as the primary technical authority on M&S tools, concepts, and methodologies within the Advanced Analytics Branch, providing technical oversight and mentorship to a diverse team of military, civilian, and contractor analysts.
• Analyzes and integrates space architectures into broader joint force M&S environments, ensuring accurate representation of space effects to inform wargames, experiments, and advanced warfare capability assessments.
• Translates complex analytical data into decision-quality briefings and recommendations for senior leadership, directly informing Combatant Commander (CCDR) capability modernization and resource allocation priorities.
• Represents USSPACECOM J81 in technical and executive-level forums with The Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), interagency partners, and academic/industry stakeholders to synchronize M&S efforts and align force design initiatives.

Desired Skills/Expertise:

• An advanced Degree(s) such as a Master’s in a STEM field.
• Previous relevant modeling and simulation work experience is required. Experience with specific systems used by USSPACECOM, including (but not limited to) STK, AFSIM, and MBSE tools is highly desired.
• In-depth understanding of DoW, Service, Agency, and Command interrelationships, particularly in the context of modeling and simulation and force design.
• Extensive expertise in organizations supporting space operations, command and control (C2), mission support, and infrastructure critical to combatant command operations, both domestically and internationally.
• Previous experience at a Combatant Command and/or Service, The Joint Staff, or OSW-level staff are highly desired, particularly in roles involving modeling and simulation, space operations, and force design development.

Conditions of Employment:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance
• Position requires drug testing
• Occasional travel away from regular duty location may be required.
• May be required to work irregular duty hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
