This role will work closely with ownership, leadership, and management teams to support employee relations, recruiting, compliance, training, payroll support, and overall HR operations across all divisions.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager will oversee and support daily HR operations across multiple companies. This individual will play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, payroll support, training, performance management, and employee retention initiatives while helping ensure company policies and procedures are applied consistently.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees
• Ensure all job descriptions remain current and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations
• Develop training materials and performance management programs to help employees understand responsibilities and expectations
• Create and maintain compensation strategies based on market research and pay surveys
• Investigate employee concerns, conflicts, and workplace issues and assist in bringing them to resolution
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment regulations
• Utilize performance management tools to provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to employees and management
• Ensure company HR policies and procedures are applied consistently throughout the organization
• Maintain company organizational charts and employee directories
• Partner with management to align HR goals with business initiatives and operational needs
• Maintain HR systems, employee records, and HR-related processes
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and salary reviews
• Provide support and guidance to HR staff
• Analyze trends in compensation, benefits, and employee retention
• Design and implement employee retention and engagement strategies
• Assist with weekly payroll processing and payroll-related tasks
• Update and maintain all employee MSHA certifications, records, and training documentation
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Previous HR management or HR generalist experience required
• Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance regulations
• Experience with HRIS systems and payroll processing preferred
• Strong conflict resolution and employee relations skills
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
• Mining, construction, trucking, or industrial industry experience is a plus
• Knowledge of MSHA compliance and training requirements preferred
