Duties

Help

  • You will perform network administration and troubleshooting supporting Maritime Operations Center (MOC) classified information systems.
  • You will recognize potential security violations, take appropriate action to report incidents as required by regulations, and mitigate any adverse impact.
  • You will provide resolution for network problems and develop/utilize bridges, routers, gateways, transport media using TCP/IP, IPX/SPR, SNA transport protocols, or SONET, ATM, frame relay, Ethernet, Token ring, or FDDI transport technologies.
  • You will apply information security knowledge and experience of information systems to provide technical support, advice, and guidance for preparation of plans, systems design plans, test plans, SOWs, and specifications for information systems.
  • You will develop funding packages as required to operate and maintain the MOC network infrastructure.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position work role code Technical Support Specialist proficiency level Advanced; incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: working in Cisco system administration and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides to Cisco switches, routers or firewalls. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
