Summary

You will serve as a TANK COORDINATOR in the Work Control Division (Code 350), Repair Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

SALARY RANGES:

GS-09: $68,686 - $89,290

GS-10: $75,638 - $98,326


Duties

Help

  • You will independently plan, estimate, and coordinate extensive industrial engineering projects and studies relating to development, implementation and maintenance of assigned units and facilities/resources.
  • You will determine and revise work operations, labor and material standards, inspection requirements, quality standards, workflow standards, and shop facilities required.
  • You will prepare detailed recommendations, justifications, and specifications for accomplishing any significant changes in process or layout.
  • You will participate in management discussions, providing advice and assistance.
  • You will identify ships components using technical work documents and drawings, coordinates and schedules inspections, repairs, and opening of tanks and confined spaces.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You may be required to qualify Radiation Control J worker, fall protection, RAR/PTC, and IMF Tank Coordinator.
  • You may be assigned to any basic work week, any shift, shift hours, and frequent overtime, including recall to work and phone communications outside his/her assigned shift.
  • Work frequently requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as walking, standing, bending, climbing of stairs and ladders, crouching, crawling, reaching, and lifting of moderately weighted items (60 lbs.).

Qualifications

For GS-10

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and coordinating industrial engineering projects or studies related to structural or non-structural tanks or confined spaces repair, maintenance, inspection or training to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of submarine production.

For GS-09

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: gathering and preparing industrial engineering projects or studies reports to provide detailed recommendations for the effectiveness and efficiency of submarine production.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
