Duties

  • You will schedule and manage the training and medical qualification programs for the shop.
  • You will coordinate all travel processes, including selection reports, conducting travel briefs, submitting requests for orders and vouchers, and assisting employees with all travel issues
  • You will prepare and issue reports using computer data bases, including leave, overtime, backshift assignments, licenses status, and training qualifications and schedules.
  • You will make clear, concise and effective oral presentations and written reports consisting of graphs, charts, etc.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to work onboard ships.

Qualifications

For GS-09:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting management with researching, interpreting and analyzing training and resource data to support fulfillment of project manning requirements.

For GS-07:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting management with collecting, tracking and reporting training and resource data to support fulfillment of project manning requirements.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For GS 09

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR

Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled

For GS 07

Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education

OR

Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement,
