- One year of experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level
- Preferred Experience: 1 year of administrative/office experience utilizing computerized program/databases that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to operate computerized programs and systems to enter - modify - and retrieve sensitive medical and patient identifying information (PII) into or from electronic [health] records - scheduling systems - and/or reports

- Expertise in utilizing numerous advanced patient systems in support of multiple clinics involved in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model
- Coordinates with the patient care team to review clinic appointment availability (utilization) to ensure that clinic schedules are closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinics and adjusts as necessary

- The Lead Medical Support Assistant is responsible for the coordination of Advanced MSA assignments and workflow found in an interdisciplinary unit
