The Kansas City VA Medical Center is currently recruiting for a Health System Specialist to serve as the Strategic Partnership Officer to support the Medical Center Director in forming - maintaining and growing strategic healthcare partnership initiatives between VHA and the local service area.
Qualifications

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. Duties
- This position involves a multi-grade career ladder
- The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-12
- At the GS-09 grade level - you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence
- You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-12
- Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance - availability of higher-level work - and availability of funds
- Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory - qualification - and performance requirements are met

- Oversees and coordinates the Medical Center's strategic outreach efforts
- Leverage responsible and productive health care partnership opportunities with Federal - State and local non-profit organizations
- Establish healthcare partnership award program to acknowledge and recognize successful partnerships
- Collaborate with are Department of Defense partners to assist both local VA and DoD in improving and ensuring high quality cost effective services
- Collaborates with the medical center and it's community based clinics to identify existing and emerging health care needs
- Measures effectiveness of communication - tracks trends - solicits feedback and implements lean principles to achieve continued improvement and effectiveness
- Develop educational workshops and seminars to inform targeted audiences on VA services and partnerships
