Job Description
The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut is seeking applications for two Assistant United States Attorneys to serve in the Criminal Division.
The Criminal Division in the District of Connecticut consists of three units. The Major Crimes and National Security Unit is responsible for prosecuting matters involving immigration, human trafficking, civil rights, government program fraud, and environmental crimes, as well as matters involving international and domestic terrorism, and cybercrime. The Violent Crimes and Narcotics Unit includes the District’s Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) prosecutions, and violent crime, gangs, and narcotics investigations. Finally, the Financial Fraud and Public Corruption Unit includes securities and investor fraud, public corruption, bank fraud and embezzlement, mortgage fraud, tax fraud, health care fraud, bankruptcy fraud and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar (any jurisdiction), and have at least 1-year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.
Preferred qualifications: Applicants should have excellent writing and oral communication skills, strong character, dedication, work ethic, and the ability to work well with others and independently.
United States citizenship is required.
