For the GS-13
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 OF THE 3 of the following:
- Assessing radiological training programs or radiation safety program performance for compliance with requirements.
- Providing guidance and/or assistance to organization personnel in the performance of radiation protection and radiological health and safety activities.
- Supporting with the development and drafting of radiation protection policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and international standards and/or regulations.

Individual Occupational RequirementsBasic Requirements:
- Degree: natural science or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and/or calculus.
- Combination of education and experience -- courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or other education; or certification as a health physicist by the American Board of Health Physics, plus appropriate experience and other education that provided an understanding of sciences applicable to health physics comparable to that described in paragraph A.
