You must meet both the Basic Requirement and the Specialized Experience to qualify for this series as described below.
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
OR
Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
GS-14 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of 3 of the following:
- Conducting comprehensive cost-benefit, benefit-cost, or socioeconomic impact analyses to quantify both tangible and intangible variables of proposed policies, regulatory initiatives, or large-scale capital investments.
- Serving as a principal investigator or project leader, with responsibility for defining research problems, coordinating professional team workflows, and managing project milestones from concept to final report.
- Translating analytical findings into executive briefings, budget justifications, or policy memos to provide authoritative recommendations to senior executives, corporate leadership, or governmental officials.
