Position Overview

The Vice President, Europe will report to the senior vice president, Europe and will work closely with relevant regional, policy, communications, and member relations teams across the organization. The successful candidate will serve as deputy leader of the Chamber’s Europe team, help lead policy work on the transatlantic economic relationship, and advance the interests of American business across key EU institutions, European markets, and policy portfolios.

The candidate will bring deep knowledge of European policy and institutions, a strong understanding of the business community’s priorities, and the ability to translate complex regulatory developments into clear strategy and action. This role requires a skilled advocate, trusted relationship builder, and strategic thinker who can work effectively with member companies, policymakers, foreign governments, business associations, and internal Chamber partners.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the senior vice president, Europe on strategic development and growth of the Europe Program.
  • Shape and expand Chamber advocacy and programming pertaining to transatlantic relations, including EU and non-EU countries in Europe, Ukraine, and the U.K.
  • Lead advocacy in the EU, member state and other European capitals, and Washington on key policy priorities, including on digital, defense, tax, and cyber issues.
  • Provide strategic oversight of the Europe team’s energy and sustainability work, including EU regulatory developments and related market-access issues.
  • Assist in fundraising outreach and membership growth and retention.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior U.S., European, and Ukrainian government officials, business leaders, diplomatic representatives, trade associations, and other stakeholders.
  • Work with member companies to identify policy concerns, shape advocacy priorities, and deliver value through timely analysis, strategic advice, and opportunities for engagement.
  • Represent the Chamber in public and private settings, including meetings with government officials, member briefings, delegations, conferences, and external events.
  • Coordinate closely with Chamber policy experts, communications teams, government affairs colleagues, and other regional and functional teams to align Europe-related advocacy across the organization.
  • Oversee and/or draft policy papers, reports, meeting briefings, testimony, speeches, and other materials for use with external and internal audiences, including government officials, corporate members, policy committees, media outlets, Chamber executives, and the public.
  • Contribute content for weekly newsletters, blogs, internal and external updates, and websites.


Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in international affairs, trade, government relations, public policy and regulation, business advocacy, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree required with advanced degree in international relations, public policy, law, business, economics, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of transatlantic commercial relations and policies affecting U.S. companies in Europe.
  • Demonstrated policy and regulatory expertise in two or more of the following areas: digital, cybersecurity, defense, tax, energy, sustainability, or international trade.
  • Experience working with senior government officials, business executives, diplomatic representatives, and/or trade association leaders.
  • Deep knowledge of EU institutions and European regulatory processes.
  • Strong strategic judgment, political acumen, and the ability to translate complex policy developments into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief senior executives and produce clear, persuasive advocacy materials.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, drive projects forward, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a member-service orientation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with colleagues at all levels of the organization.


The salary range for this position is $178,987.00 to $195,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.

Salary : $178,987 - $195,000
