Duties

  • Utilize spreadsheets and/or queries to support inventories and/or other requests.
  • Maintain stock record account for ammunition supplies.
  • Maintain requisitioning objectives to provide adequate stocks of ammunition based on forecasted requirements.
  • Analyze the results of applying guidelines and/or recommends changes.
  • Prepare documentation for the disposal of ammunition residue.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the ability to possess an adjudicated Tier 3 background investigation, for non-critical sensitive, moderate risk positions.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential.
  • This position may require a one year probationary period. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting with the receipt, storage, or issue of stocks or ammunition supplies; 2) Maintaining documentation related to the inventory or disposal of ammunition; AND 3) Assisting with coordinating or conducting inventories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 13 months by a current permanent Army employee.
  • Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years.
  • Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted.
  • Position may be made permanent without further competition.
