ABOUT THE POSITION:

This is an Army civilian position.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for OPM Government-wide Direct Hire Authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

The Washington Aqueduct is seeking multiple Pipefitters in support of our water treatment plants and facilities. These positions are responsible for providing pipefitting services to maintain and keep our Plant operational.

Located in Washington, D.C., the Washington Aqueduct serves the seat of Government and the Nation’s Capital. The Aqueduct, built and superintended by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, has been providing water to the District of Columbia since 1863 and currently wholesales water to three customers: District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority, Fairfax County Water Authority and Arlington County. A 10% retention incentive may be offered.

Hourly Wage Rate:

WG-10: $34.36 - $40.14

A 10% Recruitment Incentive may be offered.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.

- Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)

- Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading)

- Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment

- Trouble shooting
