The Billing Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely insurance claim submission and patient statement processing, supporting efficient revenue cycle operations while maintaining excellent service to patients, providers, and practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and submit dental insurance claims (electronic and paper) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Verify patient and insurance information to ensure clean claim submission.
- Generate and distribute patient statements in alignment with billing cycles and office protocols.
- Review patient accounts for accuracy prior to statement release, including insurance payments, adjustments, and balances.
- Communicate with internal teams (Insurance Verification, Payment Posting, and AR) to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and dental billing regulations.
- Provide timely and professional support to practices, patients, and insurance inquiries related to billing and statements.
- Support process improvements to reduce claim errors, minimize delays in reimbursement, and improve cash flow.
- Maintain accurate documentation of billing activity and account updates.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of dental billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle experience.
- Strong understanding of dental insurance billing, claims processing, and payment posting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
