- Supervise and coordinate the activities of Quality Assurance and Maintenance Department Safety. Directly supervise Quality Inspectors and Supply Technicians-IMRL. Supervise and perform I-level quality assurance inspections on assigned aircraft/aeronautical equipment/SE.
- Inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh nonagricultural raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.
- Works from blue-prints, maintenance manuals, quality control procedures, quality instructions, Contractor standard specifications, naval inspection manual/cards and military technical directives.
- Inspects mechanical, electrical and electronic systems assemblies and engines using general and special test equipment.
- Monitors all required inspections of maintenance procedures and system checkouts.
- Performs liaison with
quality control personnel.
- Complies with all current sections of NAVAIRINST 3710.1 Series and
- Ensures work area is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and that all safety rules and regulations are observed.
- Works with other personnel groups to resolve problems.
- Shall instruct and assist in training of lower-level employees in proper work methods and performance of their job duties.
- Coordinates with other Contractor work center supervisors.
- Carries out the requirements of the Monthly Maintenance Plan.
- Ensures safety and quality control compliance for Contractor employees.
- Coordinates with the GGFR to ensure the Quality and Safety manuals are approved
- Monitor all Ground Operating Procedures annually and amend as required
- Other duties as required
- A QI shall have demonstrated competence through satisfactory, progressive performance as an aircraft quality control inspector. Must have demonstrated knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in:
- Maintenance and repair expertise in their respective inspection area(s) (e.g., power plants, ALSS).
- Quality Assurance inspections scheduling, criteria, documents, directives, policies and requirements.
- Quality Assurance documentation, forms, logs and records.
- NALCOMIS and VIDMAFs
- The QI shall have a minimum of four (4) years aircraft maintenance experience at an I and/or D level of repair in their work center areas of expertise.
- The QI shall have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the field of DON military aviation as a "Qu*ality Assurance Representative"* in the last ten (10) years to the level of effort and complexity their respective work center expertise (e.g., Avionics, ALSS, Power plants/structures/ hydraulics/SE) of the requirements in this SOW. Examples of acceptable experience:
