Position Summary: The Service Tech/ Mechanic will diagnose mechanical failures and repair tractors and tractor components according to manuals, factory specifications, and knowledge of engine performances. Service Tech / Mechanics work in repair facilities with other techs and other departments.
Job Functions:
- Diagnosing mechanical failures and repairing tractors and tractor components according to manuals, factory specifications, and knowledge of engine performances.
- Using hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments to perform repairs.
- Experience of diagnostic software.
- Reading meters and gauges of testing equipment to diagnose engine malfunctions. Removing and disassembling engines, transmissions, and clutches for repair.
- Inspecting parts for damage and verifying dimensions and clearances of parts for conformance to factory specifications.
- Replacing or repairing worn or damaged parts.
- Organizational /clean characteristics
- Occasionally welding defective body or frame parts.
Job Qualifications:
- Furnish own tools.
- Completion of vocational programs in diesel mechanics is not required but is a plus.
- Strong mechanical skills and experience working with diesel systems, hydraulic system, and electrical systems.
- Attention to details and work as a team is required.
- Completing work orders and final documentation
- Time management
- Communication skills, basic computer skills
- Ability to travel on occasion is a plus.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm on site in Rome, GA
