We are looking for 2 Project Superintendents with large commercial, specifically heavy civil, for projects in Tracy & Vallejo, California.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Project Superintendent - Construction, Commercial with Constructors, located in Tracy, CA & Vallejo, California (2 Positions). The Project Superintendent will oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects from start to finish, including coordinating schedules, managing on-site teams and subcontractors, ensuring quality control, and enforcing safety protocols. Additional responsibilities include monitoring budgets, resolving project challenges, and maintaining clear communication with clients, architects, and engineers to successfully meet project goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Commercial Construction and managing large-scale projects in compliance with industry standards
- Strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, contractor coordination, and fostering a positive working environment
- Knowledge of Quality Control practices to ensure projects meet required specifications and high standards
- Understanding of Construction Safety protocols and implementing safety measures to maintain a secure work environment
- Proficiency in Budgeting and project cost management to deliver projects on time and within financial constraints
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, architects, subcontractors, and team members
- Experience with modern project management software or tools is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Relevant certifications in construction, project management, or safety (e.g., OSHA certification, PMP) are highly desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Project Manager in insuring compliance with all Company safety policies, procedures and practices.
- Complete understanding and interpretation of plans and specifications for the entire project.
- Supervision of the quality performance of all trades on the project.
- Coordination for the receipt, handling and placement of all materials required to fulfill the Company’s obligations on the project.
- Actively assist the Project Manager in the preparation of and subsequent revisions to the project CPM schedule.
- Direct and supervise Project Foreman in anticipation of short and long term operational needs.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of each operation for quality, productivity and budget compliance.
- Initiate positive action to correct substandard quality and/or productivity.
- Ensure jobsite security is maintained.
- Maintain adequate field staff to ensure project quality, safety and cleanliness.
- Timely communication with Project Manager regarding all aspects of project.
DUTIES:
- Understanding and monitoring the construction schedule. Conveying changes and insuring subcontractors understanding of the construction schedule. Weekly updating actual start and completion of schedule activities.
- Maintain a safe workplace. Conduct weekly safety meetings.
- Schedule material and equipment deliveries to jobsite to ensure their timely delivery as not to delay construction.
- Understand each subcontractor’s contract agreement and the scope of work defined by that agreement.
- Monitor all Company direct work including labor, material and equipment.
- Continually check the layout of key building components for both Company direct work and subcontractor work to ensure correctness and avoid construction delays.
- Maintain As-Builts drawings on a weekly basis.
- Performs such other duties as directed by the Project Manager or Director of Construction.
- Completion of Daily Reports and Photos detailing subcontractor manpower, activities of the day, problems encountered, incident reports and visitors to site with all pertinent details.
- Verify that all weather reports and incidents are documented.
Salary : $95,000 - $120,000
