Lead Garage Door Installer — Residential & Commercial
TyGrig Garage Doors is hiring an experienced Lead Garage Door Installer who likes working with people, solving problems, and being part of a team that actually enjoys what we do.
We are looking for someone with real experience in both residential and commercial garage door installations. This person should be able to lead installs, communicate well with customers, work through jobsite challenges, and take pride in clean, professional work.
This role will have an experienced helper on install jobs, so we are looking for someone who can lead the job, keep things moving, and help make sure every installation is completed safely, correctly, and with quality.
This is not just an installer position. On days when we are not installing doors, this role will help with repairs, service calls, inspections, estimates, and sales opportunities.

What You’ll Do
- Lead residential and commercial garage door installations
- Work with an experienced helper on install jobs
- Install sectional doors, tracks, springs, cables, drums, shafts, hardware, operators, struts, and weather seals
- Work on commercial overhead doors, commercial operators, and related hardware
- Lead the jobsite and keep the work moving safely and efficiently
- Diagnose garage door problems and recommend the right repair or replacement solution
- Perform garage door repairs and service calls on non-install days
- Provide estimates and explain options to customers in a professional, non-pushy way
- Communicate clearly with homeowners, business owners, builders, and property managers
- Take photos, document job notes, and complete work orders properly
- Keep the company truck, tools, and jobsite clean and organized
- Represent TyGrig Garage Doors with honesty, respect, and quality workmanship

Experience We Want
- Residential garage door installation experience
- Commercial garage door installation experience
- Garage door repair and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with torsion springs, cables, rollers, tracks, hinges, drums, shafts, bearings, and operators
- Ability to install and service residential openers and commercial operators
- Experience with low-headroom, high-lift, or commercial applications is a plus
- Experience with rolling steel doors, dock doors, or commercial service work is a plus
- Sales or estimating experience is a plus
- Experience leading a helper or small crew is strongly preferred
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to pass a background check
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to lift heavy doors, sections, motors, and materials
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and jobsite equipment
- Professional appearance and good communication skills
- Dependable, honest, and willing to work as part of a team
- Comfortable working with customers in homes and businesses
- Must care about doing the job right, not just getting it done fast

Schedule
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
Saturdays are off.
Sundays are reserved for true emergencies only, and emergency calls are not common.
On Fridays, we try to finish early when the schedule allows so the team can get home and start the weekend.
Residential and commercial install days will be scheduled as needed. On days when we are not installing, this role will help with repairs, service calls, estimates, and sales opportunities.
Pay
Pay is based on experience, skill level, and ability to lead jobs.
Pay range: $25–$40 per hour based on experience
Bonus opportunities may be available based on completed jobs, customer satisfaction, sales, and quality of work.
