Senior Bridge Engineer
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States (Remote/Hybrid)
Compensation: $120,000 – $145,000 base salary
A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Bridge Project Engineer to join its Milwaukee team. The firm has a strong presence across Wisconsin and the Midwest, delivering complex bridge, structural, and transportation infrastructure projects for DOT, county, municipal, and transportation agency clients.
This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging bridge projects while taking on increasing responsibility in project delivery, client coordination, and mentoring junior staff. The role is ideal for an engineer looking to progress toward project leadership within a collaborative and technically focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the analysis, design, and rehabilitation of bridge structures
- Develop structural calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents
- Perform bridge analysis and modelling using industry-standard software
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across transportation infrastructure projects
- Support project delivery for WisDOT, county highway departments, municipalities, and other public-sector clients
- Assist with mentoring junior engineers and reviewing technical work
- Participate in client meetings, proposal preparation, and business development efforts Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5–8 years of bridge engineering experience
- PE license required, SE license preferred
- Experience on DOT and transportation infrastructure projects
- Strong background in steel and concrete bridge design, rehabilitation, and structural analysis
- Experience with LARSA 4D, LUSAS, SAP2000, CSiBridge, LEAP Bridge, or similar software preferred
- Knowledge of AASHTO and WisDOT design standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
