A global multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced mechanical engineering leader to join its Building Environments team in Denver, Colorado. This Associate-Principal–level role centers on technical leadership, project delivery, and team development within a hybrid, collaborative work environment.
The incoming leader will work closely with clients, architects, and cross-disciplinary design teams while directing the mechanical engineering effort across a diverse portfolio of projects, including healthcare, aviation, cultural facilities, laboratories, commercial developments, and higher education buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across project teams to drive successful outcomes and ensure established objectives are met
- Oversee mechanical system design, technical specifications, and quality of engineering deliverables
- Manage project budgets, staffing, schedules, and client relationships across multiple concurrent assignments
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers in their technical and professional development
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients and help strengthen ongoing partnerships
- Contribute forward-thinking ideas and technical innovation across project work
- Direct multiple projects while ensuring strong financial performance and timely delivery
- Ensure all engineering work aligns with current codes, standards, and best practices
Qualifications
- 12 years of mechanical engineering design experience within the building services/construction industry
- Previous senior-level experience within an MEP-focused engineering consultancy
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant degree)
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- LEED AP preferred
- Proficiency with Revit and computational analysis tools
- Experience delivering projects in sectors such as aviation/transportation, cultural work, commercial buildings, labs, and higher education
- Proven ability to manage multiple teams, deadlines, and client-facing responsibilities
