Job Overview
We are a small ice cream company seeking a reliable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a 26' box truck to deliver products efficiently and safely. This role involves primarily local deliveries, with a flexible schedule of one to two days per week depending on seasonal demand. The CDL Driver will play a key part in ensuring timely delivery of our products while maintaining high safety standards.
Duties
- Operate a 26' box truck safely and responsibly for local deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload products as needed, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Deliver ice cream products to various locations on scheduled days, maintaining punctuality and professionalism.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Assist with seasonal or additional delivery needs as required, approximately one to two days per week depending on seasonality.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a box truck.
- Proven experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably in local delivery settings.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations related to commercial driving.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and responsibility.
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently within a small team environment.
- Flexibility to work one to two days per week based on seasonal demand.
