Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient logistics operations and deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, including OTR driving routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load, secure, and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and integrity during transit
- Navigate using GPS systems efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimize routes while maintaining safety standards
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after trips
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in compliance with federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery statuses, or any incidents encountered during transit
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with manual transmission vehicles
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck loading/unloading and manual handling
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment preferred
- Ability to handle logistics cargo handling tasks efficiently while adhering to safety standards for dangerous goods or hazardous materials
- Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS navigation systems for route planning and adjustments during deliveries
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving history.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean, acceptable driving record.
- Must be able and willing to drive from Dallas, TX to Houston, TX and other assigned routes.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to complete assigned trips safely and professionally.
