What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Marketing Intern position at Two Roads Social?
Two Roads Social — boutique social, influencer & talent management
Location: Remote (U.S. based required — Dallas / DFW area a plus, not required)
Type: Freelance / Contract
Hours: ~10 hours per week, flexible during CST hours
Compensation: $15/hour — OR unpaid for college credit
Ideal for: A current college student who is social-obsessed and a content creator at heart
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a social-obsessed college student to be the right hand of our Social Supervisor. If you're the person who already knows the sound before it blows up, screenshots trends to send to the group chat, and can't scroll a feed without thinking "we should do that" — this is for you.
This is a freelance, roughly 10-hour-per-week role supporting the social presence of three of our brands. You'll be deep in the feeds every day: spotting trends, keeping our accounts active and engaged, and acting as a second set of eyes on content and strategy. This isn't a coffee-run internship. It's real, hands-on work at a boutique agency where you won't get lost in the shuffle — with genuine room to grow into influencer management and brand campaign work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Trends & Social Listening
- Scroll social daily and surface fresh, relevant trends for three of our brands.
- Come up with trending sound suggestions tailored to each account.
- Keep a pulse on what's happening across the social space and flag what we should jump on (fast).
Community Management
- Handle light community management on our accounts — replying, reacting, and keeping engagement warm.
- Interact as the brand on other accounts to build presence and grow reach.
Content & Strategy Support
- Serve as a second set of eyes for our Social Supervisor on all content and strategy.
- Check accounts to confirm content actually posted as scheduled.
- Support the scheduling of content across accounts
Creator & Partner Research
- Source creators for accounts who fit brand voice, audience, and content standards.
- Maintain a running list of creator suggestions with handles, follower counts, and a quick note on why they fit.
- Identify accounts to tag and engage for accounts, including local orgs, healthcare communities, and employer brand accounts.
- Flag creators already posting about the brands or category so we can jump on organic momentum.
Client & Team
- Attend client meetings on a bi-weekly basis.
- Act as the right hand of the Social Supervisor — jumping in wherever support is needed.
WHO YOU ARE
- Genuinely Social-obsessed. This is the big one. You live on the apps, and you're deeply plugged in on trends and what's happening in the social space.
- A current college student (or recent grad) looking for hands-on agency experience.
- Ideally A content creator yourself — you understand what makes something work because you make it.
- U.S. based (required). Dallas / DFW area is a plus but absolutely not necessary.
- Reliable, self-starting, and comfortable working remotely with light structure.
NICE TO HAVES
- Working knowledge of AI tools is a huge plus.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools (Metricool, Later, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
- An eye for brand voice and visual consistency across different accounts.
WHY JOIN
- Real, hands-on experience at a boutique agency — you'll do meaningful work, not busywork.
- Opportunities to grow into influencer management and influencer brand campaign work.
- Flexible, remote schedule that works around your classes.
- Work directly alongside our Social Supervisor and learn the craft from the inside.
