Position Summary
The School Nurse supports student health and wellness to ensure a safe and effective learning environment. This position provides direct care, manages student health plans, responds to medical emergencies, and collaborates with staff, families, and healthcare providers in accordance with Arkansas Department of Education and state health guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Provide basic healthcare, first aid, and emergency response for students and staff
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and district policy
Develop and manage individualized health plans (IHPs), 504 health plans, and support IEP needs
Monitor and track immunization compliance per Arkansas law
Maintain accurate health records and documentation
Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.)
Promote health education, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student health needs
Qualifications
Current Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
CPR and First Aid certification
Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
