Two Rivers Regional Council of Public Officials (TRRC) is accepting applications for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Intake Specialist based in our Pittsfield office, serving Pike County, Illinois.
TRRC is a nonprofit organization serving Adams, Brown, Pike, and Schuyler Counties as the designated Community Action Agency. As an Intake Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for many clients seeking assistance through programs such as the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), and other Community Action programs. This position plays a vital role in helping individuals and families access resources that address immediate needs and support long-term stability. You will guide clients through the application process, determine program eligibility, maintain accurate client records, and provide exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with program requirements.
Position Title: Intake Worker
Major Responsibilities
- Complete client intake, eligibility, and enrollment applications for Community Action programs.
- Collect, review, and verify documentation to determine program eligibility.
- Maintain detailed and accurate client records and case notes using agency software systems.
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and assist clients with program information and services.
- Prepare reports and maintain records using Microsoft Office and agency databases.
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper client files in accordance with agency procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Collaborate with agency staff to ensure clients receive timely and appropriate services.
- Occasional travel within TRRC's service area may be required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and standard office equipment.
Requirements to Perform Job Functions
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to learn agency-specific software systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and a high degree of confidentiality.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
