This position may require overnight hours.This team member will be responsible for taking defect reports from a customer, reproducing the reported issue, and attempting documented fixes for the problem. If that fails, the candidate will pass the defect onto the next level of support. This person will also install software; monitor automated tasks, and other tasks to assist the programming staff.ResponsibilitiesCode, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology.Create defect report from customer and reproduce the reported defect.Attempt to correct the reported defect with documented fixes for the problem.Escalate defect to next level of support if documented fixes do not work.Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies.Sustain confidentiality with regard to information being processed, stored or accessed.Monitor and troubleshoot automated tasks.Install software.Capacity to organize and prioritize tasks.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work with multiple operating skills like Windows/Linux/Unix.Proficiency to deal with customers in a positive professional mannerWrite scripts to automate tasksOther duties as required and as assigned.RequirementsBachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent is required. Experience working with computers and multiple operating systems. Windows and Unix/Linux preferred. Advanced experience with relational database management systems, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, ORACLE, or MySQL. Coding and scripting experience in PERL, bash and/or batch, or similar language(s). Ability to manage large scale projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are desirable. Experience dealing with customers and the ability to provide outstanding customer service. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks Aptitude to employ and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications. Capacity to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions is essential. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications. Work with users requires interpersonal skills.Previous experience will put you at the at the head of the line.
