Storage facility area manager

This position includes supporting daily operations at a self‐storage property by maintaining an organized, clean, and secure environment while delivering exceptional customer service. This role combines facility upkeep, inventory/organization tasks, and front‐office retail experience to ensure tenants have a seamless and positive experience.

STORAGE FACILITY OBLIGATIONS:

• Customer Service & Sales — Greet customers, assist with unit selection, explain rental terms, process payments, and provide solutions with a friendly, retail‐oriented approach.

• Facility Organization — Maintain a clean, orderly property; ensure units, hallways, and common areas meet company standards; organize inventory such as locks, boxes, and retail supplies.

• Administrative Tasks — Manage rental agreements, update tenant records, handle billing questions, and maintain accurate logs.

• Security Monitoring — Perform regular property walkthroughs, check locks, monitor cameras, and report any issues.

• Retail Support — Sell moving supplies, packing materials, and facility products; maintain stock levels and merchandising displays.

• Tenant Relations — Address concerns professionally, assist with move‐ins/move‐outs, and provide guidance on unit access and facility policies.

U‐Haul Dealer Obligations

• Equipment Inspection — Inspect trucks, trailers, dollies, and towing equipment before and after rentals.

• Rental Contract Processing — Complete U‐Haul agreements accurately using dealer software.

• Customer Guidance — Explain equipment operation, towing requirements, safety procedures, and return expectations.

• Inventory & Yard Organization — Maintain stock of moving supplies and keep equipment staged and orderly.

• Reservation Coordination — Manage pickups, returns, and communicate with U‐Haul support when needed.

• Compliance — Follow all U‐Haul safety, documentation, and reporting standard.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong organizational habits and attention to detail

• Customer service or retail experience preferred

• Ability to multitask between storage and U‐Haul responsibilities

• Basic computer proficiency

• Clear communication and problem‐solving skills

• Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism

Work Environment

• Combination of office work and outdoor property walkthroughs

• Light physical activity (walking units, lifting small retail items, staging equipment)

• Frequent customer interaction

• Independent work with support from management

Your hours would be the following:
Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 3:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am - 12:00pm
Sunday: OFF

At this organization you would be paid every week, hourly wage would be discussed by the owner once application!
