What are the responsibilities and job description for the Milling Foreman position at TWO Oaks Construction?
We are looking for an experienced Milling Foreman to add to the TWO Oaks Construction team!
Position Overview
The Milling Foreman leads the on-site execution of road or pavement milling operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Crew Supervision: Responsible for managing the milling crew, safely operating heavy machinery and ensuring the milled surface meets precise grade and slope specifications for paving.
- Quality Assurance: Verify measurements, thickness, slope, and cross-slope to ensure compliance with project contracts and engineering plans.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate milling machines or closely supervise operators. Ensure all machinery undergoes routing maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues on-site.
- Safety Enforcement: Enforce safety protocols, ensure traffic control setups are compliant, and protect the crew and public from job site hazards.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project superintendents, truck drivers, material suppliers, and track material quantities.
- Administrative Duties: Prepare daily field reports, timecards, production output logs, and track material quantities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crew Supervision: Direct daily activities, assign tasks, and provide training or mentoring to crew members.
- Quality Assurance: Verify measurements, thickness, slope, and cross-slope to ensure compliance with project contracts and engineering plans.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate milling machines or closely supervise operators. Ensure all machinery undergoes routine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues on-site.
- Safety Enforcement: Enforce safety protocols, ensure traffic control setups are compliant, and protect the crew and public from job site hazards.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project superintendents, truck drivers, material suppliers, and paving crews to maintain project schedules.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires 3 to 5 years of experience in asphalt milling, paving, or heavy civil construction, including previous supervisory or lead roles.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of milling processes, electronic grade controls, and heavy equipment operation.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and navigate active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
