Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units, and ventilation equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose system issues.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to optimize system performance and extend equipment lifespan.
• Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems such as drainage or water supply connections.
• Utilize tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for repairs requiring metal fabrication or component replacement.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using specialized knowledge of HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems and mechanical components.
• Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders promptly, and communicate effectively with clients about system status and recommendations.

Experience

• Proven experience as a service technician working on HVAC systems in residential or commercial environments.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, maintenance, and installation.
• Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and property maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
• Experience with plumbing connections related to HVAC units and proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters or welding equipment.
• Ability to operate a driver's license for travel between job sites efficiently.
• Prior experience working with boiler systems or as a mechanic in related fields is advantageous.
