Position Summary
Twin Vee PowerCats is seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Controller to lead all accounting operations for our growing manufacturing organization. The Controller will oversee financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance as we continue scaling our operations. This role partners closely with the CFO, CEO, and department leaders to improve processes, strengthen financial discipline, and support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist in SEC reporting (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and XBRL tagging) and support quarterly earnings release preparation.
- Manage internal and external audits under PCAOB standards and maintain a SOX-ready control environment.
- Supervise all core accounting functions — GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany, and cost accounting.
- Lead the cost accounting and inventory control process, ensuring accuracy across production lots, WIP, and material flows.
- Develop, document, and enforce internal control policies and standard operating procedures.
- Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis process; provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Partner with operations to streamline production and inventory reporting through the company’s ERP system.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation of accounting processes, leveraging technology and AI-enabled tools.
- Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering accountability and cross-department collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master’s preferred).
- 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally in manufacturing or public-company settings.
- Proven experience managing cost accounting, inventory, and ERP implementations.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with SEC reporting standards.
- Proficiency with ERP systems required; SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
