Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support the cooking process by following recipes accurately and maintaining consistency in meal production
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and other appliances
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment regularly in accordance with safety standards in production
- Help with food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
- Contribute to menu planning discussions by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Support catering events or special meal services by setting up serving stations and assisting with food distribution
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy periods
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Experience with food handling, meal preparation, and following recipes accurately
