Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe and report changes in condition
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining proper nutrition standards
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting safely to assist with mobility needs
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy standards like HIPAA and assist in updating individual care plans
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer’s care is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Ability to work with individuals with disabilities, autism, or developmental challenges with patience and compassion
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members
- Physical stamina for activities involving standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects safely, and assisting with mobility tasks
- Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and implementing care plans is desirable
