Recreation Assistant

Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement recreational activities, games, and events for residents, in accordance with their individual needs and preferences
- Collaborate with the Recreation Therapy team to develop and implement meaningful and engaging programs
- Assist residents with daily living activities, such as mealtime, grooming, and medication administration, as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident participation and programming
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to plan and implement community outings and activities
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a sense of belonging and social connection
- Participate in special events, such as holidays, birthdays, and celebrations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in recreation therapy, gerontology, or a related field an asset
- No minimum years of experience required; willingness to learn and grow with our team
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; physical stamina to participate in recreational activities
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if applicable)
- Completion of Mandatory Background Check and COVID-19 vaccination requirements
